When The Green Consumer Guide, hit the headlines and became a best-seller, a number of companies came to us, asking for advice on sustainability issues. John Elkington and I co-founded SustainAbility in 1987 and were besieged with companies – both big and small – who had woken up to the environmental challenge, and wanted to know what to do.
Since then, I’ve worked with a huge number of clients carrying out environmental audits, writing reports, sitting on advisory committees and making speeches.
My view is that business needs to move beyond simply protecting their current business model, by reducing their environment impacts. What really interests me, are those with a bold vision who recognise that the world needs to change and are working out how they can help make that happen.
