Testimonials

I don’t often remember to ask for testimonials, but it’s great when people give some positive feedback.   Here are a selection of things people have said.  If you’ve heard me speak or I’ve done something for you, please do let me know what you think – both good and bad!

“The success of our ‘Big Packaging Debate’ was very much down to your insightful and on occasion challenging views….. I cannot imagine anyone more proficient or experienced…. It was refreshing and I believe highly encouraging for a cross-section of the industry to hear its environmental responsibilities discussed in such a positive manner….You definitely opened more than a few eyes and ears..”

Des King, The Write Stuff – co-organiser of the Big Packaging Debate, with Easy Fairs (Oct10)

“Many thanks for the brilliant presentation you gave yesterday at Citrus. You’ll be glad to know that it was the subject of much debate for most of the night – from shock at the waste within both the Armed Forces and the NHS to great debate on exactly whether we get buried, cremated or resomated….”

Claire Ballard, Communications Director, GREY London (Jul10)

“Everyone I have spoken to has commented on the value and inspiration they have received from the day and your part was a significant factor in all of that. Just the right balance of relevance and a very special personal flavour with knickers and goldfish thrown in (metaphorically I hasten to add).”

Peter Woodall, PRP Consulting and co-organiser.. (May10)

“I really appreciate the energy, imagination and shear spirit of enterprise which you are bringing to Waste Watch. Thank you so much.”

Stewart Crocker, Director of Waste Watch (Feb10)

Thank you for all of your challenges and great ideas that have helped us develop our strategy to 2020.”

Helene Roberts, Head of Packaging, Food Division (Feb10)

“Julia brings a fresh and challenging perspective to the issue of packaging. She’s keen to puncture the myths and misconceptions consumers have about packaging but she doesn’t let the retailers off the hook. Not afraid to be controversial, Julia’s presentation got people talking at a higher level”

Steve Read, MD, Somerset Waste Partnership (Nov09)

“Meeting Julia Hailes was inspirational!”

Feedback from Somerset Waste Partnership Presentation (Nov09)

“I had to drop you a line to say ‘a huge thank-you’ to you for being such a fantastic guest speaker – you were absolutely superb!…. You made a very inspiring speech and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending you to other event organisers as a guest speaker on eco or renovation matters as a whole – or as an after-dinner speaker – as you have such a warm and welcoming ‘touch’ to your delivery.”

Naomi Handford-Jones, Big Green Home Show, Centre Events Manager, The National Self Build & Renovation Centre, Oct 2009

“With her somewhat challenging lateral thinking and, ‘out of the box’ approach, Julia Hailes has brought to our audience and our industry the useful element of destabilisation it needed to avoid too much complacency and closed-loop reflection…”

Pierre Wiertz, General Manager of EDANA,
Organiser of OUTLOOK 09 Personal Care Products conference Sep09

“Julia Hailes ignited the CAOBISCO Sustainability Round Table with her incisive observations and commentary. Her experience and mastery of her subject gave valuable insights to the mainly business audience from across the European and International chocolate, biscuit and confectionery industries”

David Zimmer, Secretary General CAOBISCO, Sep09

“Please accept my thanks and admiration for your brilliant presentation – everyone commented on how interesting and informative it was.”

Saveria Moss, South Somerset Together, Jun09

“Julia has an infectious personality which makes her a mesmorising speaker. Her speech at BITC’s May day summit was compelling, yet told in a really engaging and humourous way. Julia’s passion and conviction really brought to life why we were all sitting there. As a communications specialist I know how difficult it can be for speakers to get up in front of a large audience and ‘be themselves’. If only we could bottle Julia’s charisma!”

Angela Terry,Triffid (brand and communications consultancy), (May 2009)

“Let me thank you for a really great and inspirational presentation at P&G Earthday in Geneva.  We keep getting positive feedback about you and in particular from the lunch session, which left an impression on many people!   You created a buzz and talk within the organisation about sustainability and our lifestyles.  You truly inspired us that day (as you do at the Expert Panels).  Many thanks.”

Ioannis Hatzopoulos, P&G – April 2009

“Julia had a great impact at our sustainability conference. As well as highlighting potential focus areas in her talk, she got stuck in with the brand teams in the afternoon to think about how we could innovate to change our products and consumer behaviours.”

Joss Langford, Reckitt Benckiser, July 2008

“Yourspeech was well appreciated.  It was good to have some challenging views.”

AISE – European Soaps & Detergent Industry Association, June 2008

“We were surprised and delighted at the detailed depth of knowledge that Julia Hailes had on environmental issues”

Shell International, Feb08

“Julia participated in a panel discussion that explored our CSR past, present and future. We encouraged her to be provocative because we want to be challenged to create game changing social and environmental policies and programs. And she sure delivered. She has strong opinions about McDonald’s, and she’s not afraid to vocalize them.”

“Most of all, a BIG thanks ….- you created a very good buzz the rest of the day.”

Bob Langert, Head of CSR, McDonalds, May07

“Just a quick thank you for your talk yesterday.  It hit just the right note!  Have had some great feedback from several attendees.”

Jean-Philippe Pare, Vice President (Nov07)
